Cancellation & Rescheduling

A clear and fair scheduling framework designed to respect client time and practitioner availability.

Why we have a cancellation policy

When an appointment is booked, the 50-minute consultation time is reserved specifically for you. Late cancellations and missed appointments can mean that another person waiting for support is unable to access that time.

To support fair access and effective practice planning, please provide as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule.

Notice periods and fees

More than 2 business days’ notice

No cancellation fee applies. Your appointment may be rescheduled to a future available time or cancelled without charge.

Between 1 and 2 business days’ notice

A cancellation fee of up to 50% of the consultation fee may apply, unless the appointment can be offered to another client.

Less than 1 business day’s notice, or non-attendance

The full consultation fee may apply, as it is generally not possible to offer the appointment to another client at short notice.

Medicare and private health insurance

Medicare rebates cannot be claimed for missed appointments or cancellation fees. Private health insurers generally do not cover non-attendance or late-cancellation charges.

Unforeseen circumstances

I understand that unexpected situations can arise, including acute illness, family emergencies and caring responsibilities. Where a genuine unforeseen or urgent circumstance prevents you from attending, cancellation fees may be reduced or waived at my discretion.

If possible, please let me know as soon as you can. This helps me offer the appointment time to another client who may be waiting for support.

Cancellations initiated by the practice

If I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment because of illness, an urgent situation or another unforeseen circumstance, I will notify you as soon as reasonably possible. You will not be charged for an appointment cancelled by the practice.

How to notify us

Cancellation and rescheduling requests can be sent by email at any time. Emails received outside usual business hours are treated as received at the time they are sent; however, a response may not be provided until the next business day.

Outstanding cancellation fees

Any applicable cancellation fee is payable before a further appointment can be confirmed.
