Client Information & Informed Consent

This page provides an overview of psychological services at Well Rounded Psychology. Your psychologist will discuss the information relevant to your care and give you an opportunity to ask questions before you consent to services.

About your care

Well Rounded Psychology provides psychological counselling and therapeutic support by telehealth. Your concerns, goals and available approaches will be discussed, including whether the service is appropriate for your needs.

Discussing difficult experiences can sometimes cause emotional discomfort. Relevant benefits, risks and alternatives will be explained. Outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

Telehealth appointments

Please attend from a private, safe location using a suitable device and reliable connection. Telehealth can involve technical interruptions and privacy limitations.

Your current physical location and a callback telephone number will be confirmed at appointments. If the connection fails, your psychologist will attempt to reconnect or contact you using the telephone number provided. Please advise before attending from outside Australia so suitability can be assessed.

Privacy and confidentiality

Information obtained during your care is treated as confidential, subject to lawful limits. These may include applicable reporting obligations, legal processes or disclosures authorised by law to address a serious threat to life, health or safety.

Your psychologist will discuss relevant information-sharing arrangements with you. Further information is available in the Privacy Policy.

Emergency contacts and urgent support

You will be asked to nominate a suitable emergency contact to assist with safety concerns. This person does not have to be your next of kin. Their role is not to receive routine updates about your therapy.

If you cannot nominate a safe contact, discuss this with your psychologist so alternative safety arrangements can be considered.

Well Rounded Psychology is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 000. Do not rely on email or booking messages for urgent assistance.

Fees and cancellations

Your consultation fee, payment arrangements and any applicable funding conditions will be explained before services are provided. Please review the Fees page and Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy and raise any questions before agreeing.

Assessments and optional AI tools

Splose is used for practice administration and clinical records. NovoPsych may be used for relevant questionnaires and psychometric assessments.

If Splose AI or NovoNote is proposed for transcription, documentation or other agreed activities, your psychologist will explain the relevant information handling and seek separate consent before use. Consent to psychological services does not itself authorise optional AI processing.

Your consent and choices

Consent is an ongoing discussion. You may ask questions, decline a proposed intervention or withdraw consent to future services. Your psychologist will discuss the implications and alternatives with you.

Reading this page or making an online booking does not replace the individual consent discussion and documentation appropriate to your care.

Questions and feedback

Please raise questions about your care, communication needs, privacy or consent with your psychologist. Information about raising concerns is available on the Complaints page.
