Billing & Pathways

Fees and referral information.

We are committed to clear, upfront information regarding consultation pathways, Medicare rebate eligibility, and NDIS arrangements.

Pathway 01

Private Consultations & Health Insurance

You are welcome to arrange appointments privately without a doctor’s referral. If you have private health insurance that includes psychological services under your extras cover, you may be eligible to claim a benefit.

Note for private health claims: Because benefits vary across health funds and policy tiers, please check directly with your insurer to confirm your eligible rebate for telehealth psychology. A paid tax invoice will be issued following your session for you to submit to your provider.
Pathway 02

Medicare Better Access (GP Mental Health Treatment Plan)

Under the Australian Government’s Better Access initiative, eligible clients with a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) and referral letter from a GP or psychiatrist may receive a Medicare rebate per consultation.

  • Eligible individuals can receive rebates for up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year.
  • Your GP will typically schedule an initial course of 6 sessions, followed by a review before approving remaining sessions.
  • Rebates are processed electronically via Medicare following payment of the consultation fee.
Referral submission: Please ensure your GP referral letter and Mental Health Treatment Plan are provided prior to your first appointment to allow rebate processing.
Pathway 03

NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme)

For NDIS enquiries, please contact the practice before booking to confirm suitability, fees and service arrangements. The $230 private and Medicare session fee does not describe NDIS pricing.

Self-Managed Participants:Please contact the practice before booking to agree on fees and arrangements.
Plan-Managed Participants:Please contact the practice before booking to confirm service and invoicing arrangements.
Pathway 04

DVA enquiries and referrals

For DVA-related psychological counselling enquiries and referrals, please contact admin@wellroundedpsychology.com before booking so suitability, referral requirements, eligibility and funding arrangements can be confirmed.

Email the practice about a referral

Private and Medicare appointments: $230 per session.

Payment Policy & Notice Periods

For private and Medicare appointments, payment is required at the time of the consultation. We use electronic card processing. Where applicable, Medicare claims will be submitted on your behalf after payment is finalised. For NDIS or DVA enquiries, please contact the practice before booking to confirm the applicable arrangements.

If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, please provide adequate notice so the time can be offered to another client. Consult our Cancellation Policy for detailed terms.
